What Makes a Giclée Print Special?
Once a digital illustration is complete, it can be reproduced using giclée printing, the gold standard for fine art reproduction.
The term giclée (pronounced zhee-clay) refers to a high-end printing method that uses archival pigment inks and fine art paper to produce museum-quality prints. This process allows artwork to be reproduced with exceptional color accuracy, rich tonal depth, and crisp detail.
Unlike standard poster printing, giclée prints are designed to maintain their beauty for decades when properly displayed. Because of their quality and longevity, giclée prints are widely used by professional artists, galleries, and museums.
What Does “Limited Edition” Mean?
Each selected Mitten Masterpiece print is released as a limited edition of 100 prints. Once those 100 prints have been produced, the edition is permanently retired and the artwork will not be printed again.
This limited approach ensures that each piece remains collectible and intentionally scarce. It also allows collectors to own a piece of artwork that is part of a carefully controlled edition rather than an open, unlimited reproduction.
Every print is part of this numbered edition, reinforcing its place within the limited run.
Crafted for Presentation
Every Mitten Masterpiece giclée print is thoughtfully prepared for presentation. Each artwork is paired with a high-quality mat and backing board and placed inside a protective sleeve to preserve its condition.
The matted presentation fits a standard 11 × 17 frame, with the artwork itself displayed at 8 × 10, making it easy to frame and display in a home, office, or cottage.
This approach ensures that every piece arrives ready for framing and ready to display.
From Fine Art Print to Paint-by-Number Experience
One of the unique aspects of Mitten Masterpiece is that our artwork lives in two forms.
Every fine art print in our collection is also available as a paint-by-number kit, allowing customers to experience the creative process behind the finished artwork. Some collectors prefer to display the completed print, while others enjoy recreating the artwork themselves with artist-grade paints and canvas.
