An Update to Our Canvas Story: Introducing Stretched Frames for Custom Kits

A few weeks ago, we shared why our 20 x 16 canvases are intentionally designed to be framed or mounted. That post sparked great conversations with customers who appreciate the idea of creating something beautiful and then displaying it as finished artwork — not tucking it away in a drawer.

Today, we’re excited to share a small but meaningful update.

A New Option, Not a New Direction

Mitten Masterpiece was built on the idea that a paint-by-number kit should feel like real art — from the materials you paint with to the way the finished piece lives in your home. That philosophy hasn’t changed.

What has changed is that we now offer the option to have your canvas professionally stretched on a wooden frame for our custom paint-by-number kits.

This is an optional presentation choice, offered alongside our original rolled canvas format. Both options reflect the same premium materials, print quality, and attention to detail — the difference is simply how you want to begin your painting journey.

Why We’re Starting with Custom Kits

We chose to roll this out first for custom paint-by-number kits for a very intentional reason.

Custom designs often mark meaningful moments: family photos, pets, special places, milestones. Offering a stretched canvas option allows customers who want a truly turnkey experience to start painting right away — no additional framing decisions, no extra steps after completion.

At the same time, many customers still prefer a rolled canvas so they can choose their own frame style or mounting method once the piece is finished. We wanted to preserve that flexibility while adding an option for those who value convenience and immediacy.

Crafted With the Same Standards

Whether rolled or stretched, every canvas is produced with the same care:

• Crisp, clean number printing for ease of painting

• Designed with framing and long-term display in mind

• Created and assembled in Michigan

The stretched option simply arrives ready to hang once completed — making it ideal for gifting or for those who already know exactly how they want to display their finished piece.

Looking Ahead

This update reflects how Mitten Masterpiece continues to evolve: slowly, intentionally, and always guided by quality. We listen, we refine, and we expand only when we can do so without compromising the craftsmanship that defines our brand.
