Create a one-of-a-kind painting from a photo you love in this elevated, hands-on workshop in partnership with Dockside Books. Whether it’s a beloved pet, favorite vacation photo, family moment, meaningful home, special place, or cherished memory, Mitten Masterpiece will transform your image into a custom 10" x 10" stretched canvas paint-by-number kit made just for you.

Don’t have a personal photo or special memory in mind? You’re also welcome to choose from any of our online Mitten Masterpiece designs, and we’ll transform your selected design into a 10" x 10" stretched canvas kit for the workshop.

  • Join us for a relaxed, small-group workshop centered on painting something personal and meaningful. After registering, you’ll upload the photo you’d like us to use, and we’ll create a custom paint-by-number kit featuring your image. Each kit will be thoughtfully prepared before the workshop so you can arrive ready to paint.

    Using artist-grade acrylics and a pre-designed canvas, you’ll bring your custom image to life one section at a time. With step-by-step guidance and a thoughtfully prepared setup by Mitten Masterpiece founder Bobbie, this workshop is designed for all skill levels—whether you’re new to painting or simply looking for a creative evening in Charlevoix.

    You’ll leave with a meaningful piece that captures something you love and a keepsake you’ll be proud to display.

    This experience is intentionally limited to maintain a personalized, high-quality atmosphere.

  • Mitten Masterpiece will bring a small selection of complimentary wine for guests to enjoy during the workshop. Guests are also welcome to bring their own beverage of choice if they prefer.

    We simply ask that all guests drink responsibly and that alcoholic beverages be enjoyed only by guests who are 21 or older.

Event FAQs

  • Most guests will begin their painting during the session and continue finishing it at home. You’ll leave with everything you need—including paints, brushes, and guidance—to complete your piece with confidence.

  • Not at all. This experience is designed for all skill levels. Whether you’re new to paint-by-numbers or have experience, you’ll be guided step-by-step with techniques to help you achieve a beautiful result.

  • Each guest selects their Charlevoix design in advance and receives a complete paint-by-number kit, including a premium stretched canvas, hand-mixed Golden Acrylic paints, and our Artisan Trio brush set—along with guided instruction during the workshop.

  • Absolutely. We encourage it. Each attendee will need their own reservation and custom kit.

  • Due to the nature of this workshop, reservations are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you will still receive your selected Charlevoix paint-by-number kit and can complete your painting at home.

  • Early Access pricing is available through 7/26/26 and will close a week in advance of the event. We recommend reserving early, as seating is limited.

  • The workshop will take place at Dockside Books in Charlevoix in a relaxed, welcoming setting—perfect for a creative evening.

  • Our kits are thoughtfully designed with adults in mind, offering a more detailed and elevated painting experience. However, younger artists ages 12 and up can typically complete the design with patience and supervision, making it a great option for creative teens as well.

  • To allow time for the creation of each custom canvas, reservations close one week prior to the event date (8/5/26). We recommend securing your seat early, as both availability and Early Access pricing are limited.
